CÉCILIE “LILI” REYNET
Cave & Sidemount Instructor

Co-founder, CDT Mexico

Presentation

Cécilie “Lili” Reynet was born in France and is fluent in English, French, and Spanish. She has been based in Mexico for many years, after an extensive international background that includes long-term stays and professional activity in Europe and South America.

Before entering professional diving, Lili earned a French degree in sports education and worked for more than ten years as a professional personal trainer in France and Argentina. During that time, she also specialized in VIP wilderness and expedition-style tours, developing strong instructional, organizational, and decision-making skills in remote and demanding environments.

Lili began diving in 2008 and became a professional instructor in 2014, specializing early in technical and cave diving. She became a Full Cave Instructor as early as 2016. She has logged more than 4,000 dives worldwide, including over 2,500 cave dives, with experience in France, the Philippines, the Maldives, and Mexico.

Her diving focuses strongly on sidemount and stage/multi-stage cave configurations, with particular attention to control, efficiency, and precision in confined environments.

From 2015 to 2019, she was part of the GoSideMount team as an Official Razor Cave Instructor, contributing to the teaching and development of modern sidemount techniques during a period of rapid evolution in configuration and methodology.

Since 2015, Lili has also been involved in cave survey and local projects in the Riviera Maya. Today, she is actively teaching cave and sidemount diving in Mexico, with a strong emphasis on fundamentals, movement quality, and consistent, repeatable performance in real cave conditions.

Experience & Focus
  • Diving since 2008

  • Professional instructor since 2014

  • 4,000+ total dives

  • 2,500+ cave dives

  • Sidemount, stage, and multi-stage cave configurations

  • Active in cave survey and local projects since 2015

Lili is known for her attention to detail, control in confined spaces, and ability to identify and correct inefficiencies in diver movement and positioning.

Teaching Philosophy

Lili’s teaching is focused on consistency, control, and efficiency in execution. She believes that solid fundamentals are the foundation of safe and effective cave diving, and that performance must be repeatable under realistic conditions.

Instruction emphasizes trim, propulsion, stability, task management, and awareness, allowing divers to operate calmly and efficiently without unnecessary workload. Training is adapted to each diver’s background while maintaining strict performance standards.

Courses are performance-based, not time-based. Progression depends on the diver’s ability to demonstrate stable, integrated skills rather than on completing a predefined number of dives.

Lili’s approach is demanding but progressive. She is attentive and patient, focusing on identifying inefficiencies and correcting them methodically. Confidence is built through competence, not pressure.

Her goal is to develop divers who move efficiently, remain composed under stress, and perform reliably as part of a team in complex cave environments.
